    Ab Fab Rowing Machine!

This rowing machine is the bees knees of home exercise equipment. I've been looking for a way to exercise that takes minimal effort (read: I don't need to put on a sports bra for this) while getting maximum output (read: sweating like a sinner in church). Here's a breakdown of the pros and cons.Pros:1. incredibly quiet. The actual rowing bit doesn't make any noise at all. What does make noise is the seat as it goes back and forth. The noise level is minimal and would be perfect for a living situation where rabble rousers would be discouraged.2. the footprint of the machine is minimal. When the seat bit is folded up, it barely takes up any space. I leave mine unfolded because I have the space for it, but if you wanted to keep it's square footage to a minimum, this would certainly beat out the floor space of an elliptical (snooze-machine) or a treadmill.3. you get a serious workout. Like serious. After 10 minutes of moderate effort on level 2, I was... 5/5 L. Rollins (New York, NY) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Nice rower with nice resistance....but dat display tho

If one were to rate the machine for is mechanical properties ( as most machines are rated ) then this guy would get at least 10 stars easy. Its no Concept 2 but it costs a third of the price and offers some pretty nice resistance. The assembly is ridiculously easy but I work for IKEA so following instructions isn't even a problem; however, I will give them credit for separating the bags of parts based on the steps they go with. The machine folds up rather well and it takes up as much space as the bike I use on a trainer. Why give it a 3? Well....as far as price and function, the machine is super special awesome, but I must have drawn a frayed straw when I got my package in the mail. The cool advertised display ( mine at least) , doesn't track any activity whatsoever. It constantly displays "STOP" as if one isn't using it...even after multiple rows. I contacted the manufacture and they say it could be a bad sensor which the parts department may have spares for but we shall see... 5/5 Rex Blake - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) As the previous review mentioned, this is no Concept2 rower. I'll start with the negatives...The rollers for the seat are not as smooth. The nylon strap that works as the chain to pull the system has a very narrow gap to go though to avoid rubbing. I prefer to lean forward (from the back) when contracting while rower instead of sitting tall though the whole motion, this machine is to short that is causes me to return the handle all the way to the home position without being about to go any further for more range of motion. That being said, I am only 5'8" so a much taller person might not be able to lean forward much, if at all, if you rower in this fashion. This was my first magnetic resistance rower and if you have never used one before, just be warned their an odd feeling over air (I knew this before buying and you should research it yourself too). Finally, related to the resistance, the magnetic resistance doesn't increase the fast you go like an air resistance goes... 5/5 Jason - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This machine may save my life

I'm a former marathon runner who now has severe arthritic pain in both knees. Even walking long distances hurts. I transitioned to an elliptical machine, which was better, but still leaves me with some pain as there is still some weight bearing. I'd stopped exercising for the last few years, and have watched my weight balloon and my health start to decline. I'm so out of shape that housework and even climbing a flight of stair leaves me out of breath. I'm about 5'10" and a depressing 280 pounds of flab. So I'm basically starting from zero. I've talked to my doctor and orthopedist - both of which suggested swimming as an aerobic activity which won't stress my knees. No pool close to me so not an option. I found this machine by accident and was convinced by all the stellar reviews to try this. So here are my first impressions.Amazon had this delivered in two days via UPS. Concept2 Model D has advantages over BodyCraft VR500

After much research I bought the Concept2 Model D rower. Now I am very glad I did.I was comparing the following machines* Concept2 Model D ($900)* Concept2's Model E ($1100) which is higher off the groundand probably Concept2's strongest competitor on quality (but not price)...* BodyCraft VR500 (listed for $1900, usually on sale for $1500-1600)Also high off the ground like the Model E, and with a long monorail (both Concept2 models D and E also have an available longer monorail, for people with inseams of 38 inches/96.5cm or longer)I tested the Concept2 at my local YMCA before buying it (Concept2's website shows a listing of YMCA's with a Concept2 in your zip code). I also tested the BodyCraft VR500 at my local 2nd Wind Exercise Equipment store.I purchased the Polar H7 heart-rate monitor to work with the Concept2 , and the RowPro Software for the Concept2 after trialing it for 3 weekends... 5/5 Mark (Minneapolis, MN) - See all my reviews This review is from: Concept2 Model D Indoor Rowing Machine with PM5 (Sports) After much research I bought the Concept2 Model D rower. Amazing.

I resisted all the black Friday deals on rowers and bought this one based on the positive reviews. I'm glad I did. Amazon shipped it to me in 2 days. Comes in a large box that weighs about 60 lbs. Very well packaged. Puts together with just 8 bolts. All the tools are included. Took 5 minutes.Despite the positive reviews, this item exceeded my expectations. The machine is extraordinarily solid. No wiggles or give what so ever. Just unbelievable for a 55 lb machine. The rowing motion is great. Clutch uptake is without slack. The slide is smooth. There are complaints about the seat being too hard. I though that the seat was hard plastic, but it's very firm rubber. There is cushion, and I didn't have any problems at all. I bought a gel cushion, but don't find that I need it.I was a bit worried about noise since my machine is in a hard room. But there is not much noise. I'm able to hear the TV from across the room.Overall, this is one... 5/5 Larkspur (Colorado Springs, CO) - See all my reviews, December 4, 2014

    Great machine, great value :)

I was nervous to purchase this because there weren't any reviews at the time I purchased it. The model below this one has plenty of reviews where most of the complaints stemmed from the foot rest not being large enough and the machine being noisy while rowing. I took a chance and got this model and it seems those issues have been addressed. The machine was easy to assemble, took less than 15 mins, the only issue I had was putting the bottom part, that goes in the back, the stabilizer, on the medal part, it didn't seem to fit. So, it was wobbly and unstable until after it was fully assembled, during my first few rows, my body weight forced the part to fit.The foot rest is large enough to allow the foot to stay on the rest while rowing and the machine is pretty quiet. I'm not sure how accurate the calories burned meter is but the counter seems to be accurate for the number of rows. AA battery not included. The actual workout, which can be adjusted with... 5/5 Shantrice S - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Excellent Quality to be Expected from Sunny Health & Fitness!

5/5 Yen - See all my reviews This review is from: Sunny Health & Fitness SF-RW5606 Premium Rowing Machine (Misc.) Excellent rowing machine! I've purchased a few machines from Sunny Health in the past for my home gym, and the quality is always great, even on the low end machines. Decent sized box arrived last weekend, not too heavy for me to move myself, 5'7" woman and I got to assembling it right away It wasn't too difficult to assemble. Used it moderately for 1-2 hours a day**EDIT**The machine still gets moderate usage (i haven't gone tired of it yet!) and it still gives me a good workout. My brother is a much bigger guy that goes to the gym, and it seems to be somewhat of an easy machine for him, so perhaps this is not for the larger people, although to be fair he's 230lbs+ which is above the recommended weight for the machine. I like the machine so much I recently bought a sunny treadmill to complement this machine in our "gym". will update in a month or so after some more use and will adjust my stars accordingly. A Lot to Like

Coupon code resulted in low/no price purchase for evaluation. First things first, several years ago I purchased a Sunny Health and Fitness spin bike without knowing what to expect. At the time, it was a new brand, totally unknown to me and without many reviews but the specs of the bike including the flywheel etc compared to the price seemed like it would be a good deal...and good deal it was. I still own that bike and it has literally gone through hundreds and hundreds of hours of workout while still going strong. Fast forward and we have now set up a small home gym in the garage. Yes, space is a bit of a premium but we like to mix things up a bit and really wanted a little rower and this fit perfectly.About the rowerIf you are considering a Concept rower or other high end type machine like they have at the gym...this is not that machine. If you are a pro then this is not your machine. If you are short on space and just want a smooth total body workout for an... 5/5 AmazonJavaJunki - See all my reviews, June 22, 2016

    Extremely disappointing

1/5 Imtiaz - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Sunny Health & Fitness SF-RW5606 Premium Rowing Machine (Misc.) The only thing good I can say about this piece of equipment was that it was easily to assemble. The instructions on the use of the machine are dismal. The calorie monitor appears to measure only how much the seat moves. There doesn't appear to be any reasonable tension on the upper body (rowing) side to be able exercise. There are no calories per minutes displayed. The function key says I can measure pulse, but it certainly is not my heartbeat, which is only slightly higher because I spent a fair amount of time assembling this rower only to realize I have been burned.I think I'll go shopping to get some exercise, cause this machine can't compare to that. Great Air Rower for a Great Price!

I took delivery of this almost two weeks ago and wanted to delay writing a review until I had time to use it for a bit. This is very much like a Concept II Model A rowing machine, which is a good thing. When I took delivery I put it together myself. Due to the weight of the parts I would recommend two people. It only took about an hour to put it together nonetheless.I used to work in aerospace manufacturing so went over it thoroughly to check the manufacturing and quality of parts and am pretty impressed. It's a very sturdy piece of kit! The seat rollers are adjustable as are the footrests and the electronics show stroke rate, calories burned, time rowing, etc. I also purchased a heart rate monitor to check my time in zone. The seat is also well made; when I read that the seat was padded I expected something shoddy for the price but it's a soft plastic/hard rubber material that's just the right stiffness for long rowing workouts. I can unlock the fan to fold it over and it... 5/5 Mikster (Seattle) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Stamina 35-1405 ATS Air Rowing Machine

I did A LOT of research on home-use rowers prior to "settling" on the Stamina. I really wanted a Concept 2 (C2) (Gold Standard in my opinion), but not in my budget! If you can’t afford a C2, definitely buy this one-don’t go any cheaper! I read all the reviews about this rower on Amazon. My husband rowed in college and children now in competitive varsity rowing everyday. Husband purchased this rower (This model is actually the 35-1405 ATS) as a 50th birthday gift, to get in me in shape(I‘ve been begging for a rowing machine since I'm overweight and have knee and back problems). Purchasing and receiving, we had no issues. Assembly okay, (recommend two people and using your own tools to save your hands if they lack strength). I did need husband's help, tightening it properly is VERY important, based on some issues in others buyers' reviews! Reading the instructions step by step very important-there are some “through-bolts” that need to be moved... 4/5 Marisa A - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?)
