I know I'm going against the grain, but it's really worthless

Don't be fooled by its slick appearance: Whoever designed this machine has no clue about rowing. To row the standard 2000m distance on the BodyCraft VR100 takes EXACTLY two hundred and twenty strokes. It does not matter if you take 220 long, powerful strokes or 220 stunted, one-foot strokes; the computer always displays 2 km. Nor is it responsive to resistance. 220 strokes at the highest resistance level gives you 2 km, as it does at the very lowest resistance level. Also, according to the computer, you burn .6 calories for every stroke; it does not matter if they are long and laborious or short and effortless. Clearly, the manufacturers installed a dummy computer to fool unwitting buyers - in no way does it measure power, like a real ergometer. Thus, the exerciser has ALMOST NO CLUE about his performance and fitness. The computer is nothing more than a stroke counter and a clock. (The "stroke rate" indicator is fickle and nearly useless, and the "speed" is also... 1/5 Rowist - See all my reviews This review is from: BodyCraft VR100 Rowing Machine (Sports) Don't be fooled by its slick appearance: Whoever designed this machine has no clue about rowing. To row the standard 2000m distance on the BodyCraft VR100 takes EXACTLY two hundred and twenty strokes. This rowing machine ROCKS!

I was/am a runner who constantly was sustaining leg injuries of one type or another. I finally yielded to the fact that I needed to seriously cross train and reduce my running. I decided to row, however I abhore having to spend tons of cash on exercise equipment to work out indoors when running is virtually free outside. I originally wanted to spend only a few hundred dollar so at least I could get my work outs in and see if I really liked rowing. After reading every review I could find, I decided that it may be in my best interest to spend more than a few hundred dollars. When I chose the Body Craft VR100 rower I figured that I would still be compromising quality since it was a mid-priced unit. I didn't want to listen to things click and clack, and have to tighten things that would loosen over time. Much to my amazement, this rower Rocks! It was really easy to put together, the parts are high quality, and the important thing is when you row you don't even think about the fact... 5/5 T. Popper - See all my reviews, March 8, 2007

Full review: first impressions and conclusion!

*UPDATED* (If you're more of a "give me the gist" kind of person and don't want to read the update, you should know my star rating has not changed and I'm just as pleased as when I started!)-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------When I started my weight-loss journey, I told my wife that an exercise that I have always truly *enjoyed* doing is stationary rowing. Not only is it a full-body exercise that combines low-impact strength training with a true cardio-vascular workout, but it's...well...fun! I would like to thank Stamina Products for sending us a sample of this air rower to help us out on our weight-loss goals. This is first part of a three-part review that I will be posting here - I will be updating with a more in-depth analysis in a few months and finally with some results at the end of our journey (May-June). Perfect compact rower

I've had this rower for a few days now and feel I should say something about my impressions. First, the size is perfect for smaller places. I have a small place and can use this almost anywhere. Second, it's whisper quiet. I live in a town home and I'm not worried a bit about disturbing my neighbors. It's really that quiet. Third, and the best part, it has a wide range of resistance. This seems to be an issue with other rowers. You'll get whatever workout your looking for. It does fold up and will fit in most closets. It also has wheels to help move it around. These are tiny, and won't help much on carpet. It's also fairly heavy. This is part of its quality which is rock solid as far as I can see right now. I mention the weight because if you need to move this around your going to have to be physically fit enough to do this.I will say I looked all over for the best rower for my needs, and this far surpasses what I was expecting for a personal rower. Plus it's one of the... 5/5 jeff collins - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) 0 5/5 Julie Mc "Julie Mc" (Jupiter, Florida) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Stamina Avari Programmable Magnetic Exercise Rower (Sports) I've had my rower a little over 2 weeks now and I think it's great.I had it put together in well under an hour. Very simple. Good directions. It's got many programs. If I remember, it has 10. Great cardio. Good interval selections. Simple to use. Total body workout. It's built really well. Quality is excellant. I'm so glad I went for a little more expensive after reading the reviews on a little lesser expensive row machine. It has a pulse monitor you wear around your chest.I've been putting in 30 minutes a day. I plan to use this for many years to come.I would recommend this rowing machine to anyone without hesitation. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 20, 2013

    Wonderful Shower gift

0 5/5 H V Del "HVDel" (Miami, FL USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Fisher-Price Discover 'n Grow Activity Bouncer (Baby Product) We loved our bouncer but when my cousin got pregnant we couldn't find the same one, so after reading many reviews and looking at MANY bouncers we decided on this one. It is so much cuter in person than in the picture. She is using a safari theme and loves monkeys and was so excited that this fit in perfectly. It does have blue on it, but is quite gender-neutral, and has the very important "vibrate" function that was like magic for our baby. The toys hanging over swing out, which is also a great feature. She was very excited, and it turned out to be the perfect baby shower gift! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 16, 2012

The toy bars design is flawed

0 3/5 Nagu - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Fisher-Price Discover 'n Grow Activity Bouncer (Baby Product) I bought this bouncer for my 3 month old and is what can be expected from a bouncer, but my problem with this is that the description says that the toy bars swing away for easy access to the baby, that makes it sound like you do not have to remove the bars to get the baby in or out(which was my main reason for choosing this one). But when I assembled the chair I realised that the toy bars do swing aside but they do not stay aside, they spring right back. So I cannot get my son in and out of the bouncer without removing that bars. I dont mind removing them if it were not so hard, the clip that holds the bars is at a very awkward downward angle and they do not slip off easily or get snagged in the cloth of the bouncer very frequently. My advice is that you can find better designs of bouncers in the same price range. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 6, 2013

    Awful product, virtually unusable

0 1/5 DSpears - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: ActionLine A80610 Indoor Folding Magnetic Rowing Machine (Misc.) It's hard to imagine how a product could be designed so poorly. Aside from feeling very flimsy when assembled, this rower doesn't actually work. The motion produced by its cheap mechanism is so poor as to render it unusable. Assuming that you manage to assemble it using the worst set of instructions that I have yet encountered, the cord pulls back extremely slowly, so you are left waiting for it to recoil, making an odd creaking sound. Not only this, but when it does return to its position it very often catches on a protruding dial that is used to adjust the tension. Except the dial doesn't adjust the tension. In fact, it doesn't adjust anything - there appears to be only one tension setting. If it does not return to its recoil position, it produces a jarring, injury inducing jolt. The cable appears to show a good deal of wear after one use. Remarkably, according to the computer, I burned 300 calories in five minutes. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 22, 2014
