    Demo of Stamina Rower

Customer Video Review Length:: 1:17 MinsSo far, so good. I was a little upset that there weren't any video reviews for this product, (youtube, from the company itself etc.) so I promised myself that I'd make a video demonstration for others to judge. The basic stuff you need to know: There are 12 levels of resistance (I was using resistance level 8).The computer tells you how many complete rows you have performed, time performed, calories burned or you can scan through all three (My computer didn't work when it first arrived, but after a solid punch it woke up and started working). The resistance is nice. You'll get a good workout with this inexpensive machine. Storage is convenient, but don't be fooled, 35 pounds is heavy to move around from room to room. Keep the machine close to where you plan on using it. Finally, the footstraps were a major complaint. My complaint about the footstraps is that it doesn't hold your feet securely against the footrests. The clicking noise you hear in... 5/5 Louie the Italian Jew "Lou da Joo" - See all my reviews, September 25, 2010

A fantastic rower for this price!

0 5/5 Linda (United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: Stamina Body Trac Glider 1050 Rowing Machine (Sports) .PROS:a. Real rowing (oar-like) action, rather than just pulling on a single T-bar.b. Comfortable even with tall people (I'm 6'1').c. Adjustable rowing tension.d. A very sturdy, rigid, and well-built frame.e. Easy to assemble.f. Takes little room to use.g. Very low cost (one hundred twenty dollars).CONS:a. The seat is not well padded.b. The unit creaks and squeaks a bit until it is warmed-up.c. No instructions explaining how to actually row properly. (I found some great videos and info on the Web, however, that instruct as to how to use rowing machines). You simply cannot beat this Stamina Body Trac Rowing Machine at this very low cost -- it is an amazing deal! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , December 20, 2006

    I've had this for 1 1/2 years - still a great machine

I've used this machine for 45 min every other day for a year and a half. It is this only exercise that I do and I have seen remarkable results. I am 30 years old and I have lost thirty pounds of fat and have turned an average body type in an athletic one. My back and shoulders have especially benefited. Those are the results you can expect from using this low impact, compact, easy to use and actually pretty fun piece of exercise equipment - all form the comfort of your living room.As for the machine itself: Pros:It is sturdy - I am 6'2" and 190lbs (started at 220lbs) and have never had a problem with stability.I like the free rowing arms (as opposed to a bar like I've seen at gyms), gives the feel of a real row boat and also allows for exercising different parts of arms and back.Quick results - and probably quicker if I made some changes to my diet.Cons:Calorie counter sucks butt. Infact the computer in its entirety... 4/5 oddBobby (Dallas) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This machine may save my life

I'm a former marathon runner who now has severe arthritic pain in both knees. Even walking long distances hurts. I transitioned to an elliptical machine, which was better, but still leaves me with some pain as there is still some weight bearing. I'd stopped exercising for the last few years, and have watched my weight balloon and my health start to decline. I'm so out of shape that housework and even climbing a flight of stair leaves me out of breath. I'm about 5'10" and a depressing 280 pounds of flab. So I'm basically starting from zero. I've talked to my doctor and orthopedist - both of which suggested swimming as an aerobic activity which won't stress my knees. No pool close to me so not an option. I found this machine by accident and was convinced by all the stellar reviews to try this. So here are my first impressions.Amazon had this delivered in two days via UPS. Came in a strong secure box, well packed with large pieces of Styrofoam.UPS brought this... 5/5 BeagleGuy (New Jersey) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) 0 4/5 Jessica (Illinois) - See all my reviews This review is from: Powerline PHG1000X Single Stack Home Gym (Sports) This gym is well made, solid, but comes with no weights. It's small enough that it will fit in any room - I have it in a 6x4ft area. The instructions leave a lot to the imagination but with that said, it only took me 4 1/2 hours to put together. Make sure that you lay all the parts out and put them in order so you know which part is which before you begin. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 24, 2009

    Horrible directions

Ditto from the other comments about the directions. There are no directions...period. There is only a blow up illustration, which seems to have been written by a non-english speaker. Even the illustrations (which are ink drawn and not jpg. photos) lack any significant detail. Some small parts are not even listed (which bolt to use). Some others are listed by size (in metric) on the blow up, and not by item title (you know...insert bolt "a" into part "z"). I can't imagine why a U.S. company would allow this to happen. Make and insert your own directions guys! Also, of the illustrated blow ups, of which there were four pages, some of the items were out of order, and had to be redone (pulleys). I ordered a weight stack extra. There were no directions on how to adapt the basic machine. I asked Powerline, and the only response I got was to remove the weight stack risers. Ooops. Except just doing that meant that I can't put the selector all the way to the... 3/5 W. Linton "aikicop" (Columbus, OH) - See all my reviews, September 25, 2009
