Solidly Built !!! Great performance!!! w/UPDATED Reviews

TO SEE ALL OF THE LATEST UP-TO-DATE REVIEWS (THRU 1/4/2014), BE SURE TO CLICK ON THE "READ MORE..." LINK BELOW. :)Greetings!!!I spent a lot of time reviewing many machines and watching videos and I finally decided on this one.I have been riding recumbent bikes for 8 years and I have owned ones with lots of bells and whistles, and just simple manual machines for setting your own loads for intensive training.I just finished putting this together and it is a great performer. It has a very solid frame and themagnetic resistance load goes from very light to extreme load. It will challenge anyone wishing fora hard workout. The computer has the basics for letting you know distance, speed, elapssed time, caloriesburned (approx. only), etc. If you are not looking for programmed routines and just want a goodmanual riding machine, you will not be disapointed. I was very surprised at the solidness of this bike.It is also very quiet... 5/5 Jamie Sebenius "Jamie" (kansas) - See all my reviews, July 13, 2012

A fantastic exercise bike for a quality price!

I am in the middle of a diet and exercise program, and have been aching to get a recumbent exercise bike since the beginning. I am keeping a blog about my weight loss and mentioned it several times. My parents took note of it and purchased this for me for Christmas 2011. I was real excited when I got it home and put it together. It assembled real well; it's straight-forward enough that for the most part you don't even really need directions. I used them anyway, though just for posterity's sake. It took about an hour and a half, maybe two hours to do by myself, and would've been quicker if I had been a bit more organized (half of that time was spent trying to find my tools again after moving to the next part). It's very quiet, and the tension settings are easily adjustable. The seat is fairly comfortable, and as long as you have the adjusters tightened correctly it makes no noise as you ride. The display is fairly simple; it displays the current... 5/5 Jack J. Good basic cardiovascular (and leg) workout; but hard to adjust for different heights; alert manual says 300 lbs not 325

I was in the market for a piece of exercise equipment that would provide my wife and I with a good cardiovascular workout. Any additional benefit such as lower body, upper body, core was secondary to that. Also my wife is still recovering from leg injuries and she never really used an elliptical we bought before all that much. The elliptical was well over twice the price of the 900 XL and it broke just after a year. So I wanted a recumbent bike that was good but I did not want to pay for a mid or even premium priced one. I am also around 260 lbs. For all those reasons I decide to go with the 900 XL.Set-up: We were actually very impressed by how the bike is shipped to you. If you open the instruction booklet you are likely to freak out by all the parts listed. But the vast majority of pieces are already put into the machine. Now you will have to take bolts out and then back in, but there were only 6 loose bolts. Where they reasonably could have done the construction before... 4/5 austin_Larry (Austin, TX USA) - See all my reviews, January 22, 2012

tough assembly but sturdy as a rock

0 5/5 Bob C. - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Weslo Pursuit R 2.2 (Sports) so far the bike is very smooth, the lcd screen is worthless unless you are in well lit room, or under a light, but does work properly. at under a $100 this is a steal !!!!the assembly can be a little rough, some of you might want an extra person to help. the bolts are treated with blue locktite which can make mounting parts with the allen wrench provided a little tough for the timid. pay attention when connecting the wires for display together, and off to the races.PS - couldn't get heart rate monitor to work... you will find a very thin plastic coating on each of the heart rate pads peel them off, and your good to go. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 25, 2013

    An Inexpensive Bike

I am a bit disappointed. First of all, the box arrived with one of the cranks sticking out of its side. Unpacked it and it looked okay. Assembly was easy, but when I started pedling, the consol did not work. It displayed okay, but did not register speed or distance or anything else. Took it back apart and checked all the connection and they were okay. Checked the manual under troubleshooting and it explained I had to take the left pedal and plastic shield off and adjust the sensor switch, moving it closer to the magnet on the crank assembly. In doing that, I found the plastic shields were broken in 6 places due to the rough handling the unit took as evidenced by the damage to the outside packaging. I have gone back to the manufacturer for replacement shields. We shall see if they provide replacements. As far as the bike goes, it is sturdy and has a comfortable seat. It has magnetic resistance, but I did not understand that you could only vary the resistance... 3/5 Clark Shilling - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great Bike and Awesome Price!

I bought this bike during a major sale after trying some spin classes with a friend. The spin classes became too expensive to continue with, so I decided to get a bike to keep up the exercise at home. In comparison to the bikes used in spin class, the only thing I found to be missing was the fact that you can't slide the seat forward or backward. You can adjust the height, just not forward or backward. I still haven't figured out how to get the display to tell me how far in miles I've gone (it gives a number, but I don't know what it's measuring), however I haven't read through the entire owner's manual yet, either. The tension is easy to set with a dial that can be set from zero to ten in resistance (I use the ten for when I stand up to pedal).Assembly was a little difficult just by myself, but I think it would be easy with a second person (which is what the instructions recommend). It's sturdy and the seat is comfortable. The seat adjusts low enough that my 11-year-old can use... 4/5 R. Freeman (Michigan) - See all my reviews, July 1, 2013

    All Good

Bought this item via Amazon over other retailers because of the free shipping (delivered very quickly by Fed-Ex). Took a while to put together, and the tension chord was a complete bitch, but I broke out my trusty wrench and got it in place. This bike is very sturdy, and I tightened the piss out of the nuts and bolts so it would be. I can see where the base legs and seat may wobble if the bolts are not tight, so be vigilant about that. Had to get used to the smooth, noiseless ride, and the higher tension settings will get smoother as I get more used to it. The lower settings are very smooth and effortless. The plastic case was intact, no bolts were missing, all was good, and the bike fits into a convenient spot in my apartment and takes up little space. As a cardio exerciser, it works well, and after 15 minutes of use I was sweating like, well, like a fat guy on a bike. After 30 minutes I could barely walk, but, again, that's due to me, not the bike. The seat really does hurt the... 5/5 BJM "BJM" (Grand Island, NE United States) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Good moderate-exertion women's bike

I ride a real bicycle 3-4 times a week. I have very muscular legs and can easily ride 20+ miles over the course of the day.I bought this exercise bike so I can stay fit without having to go out in the nasty weather (snow, rain, and ice.)Assembly: Straightforward and fairly easy. But, the plastic body of the bike is cracked on one side. I'm ticked off about that, but it doesn't affect the bike's function.Seat: There is nothing wrong with this seat. I don't know why so many users have complained; I'm guessing they are not frequent bike riders and are looking for an easy way to get fit. Virtually any bike seat is uncomfortable if you aren't used to riding a bike. As for me, after riding this bike for an hour I have no butt discomfort. I attribute this to my regular bike usage. For newbies, I estimate it will take a week or so to become accustomed to sitting on a bike seat.Exertion: The highest setting is not difficult to pedal. Maybe this... 4/5 The Doc - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Marcy Marcy Upright Mag Bike (Sports) I ride a real bicycle 3-4 times a week. Absolute garbage

0 1/5 James - See all my reviews This review is from: Weslo Weslo Cross Cycle Upright Exercise Bike (Misc.) Very poorly engineered drive system that will fall apart with repeated use. The design of the axle is such that the flywheel has no option but to wobble due to ~10 degrees angle of deflection from its centerline (created by poor axle to flywheel fit, perhaps some race bearings are needed? I'm not sure, I'm not an engineer, but I can see the problem). Weslo knows that most of these machines get used about 3 times and then are relegated to clothes hanger duty which is what allows them to get away with selling garbage machines like this one. If you are looking for exercise equipment that you will actually use several times per week, look elsewhere. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , April 8, 2014

Good product - IF you don't have any issues...parts no longer made

0 2/5 onlinemom - See all my reviews This review is from: Weslo Weslo Cross Cycle Upright Exercise Bike (Misc.) Got this elsewhere, but the wheel came cracked, and we were missing one locking nut. Called the 866 # on the form in the box as iit says to do and was told they do not make the wheel anymore. Their advice? Duct tape it. Ok, then asked that they send me just the locking nut that was missing - turns out they don't have those either...they suggested I go to a hardware store with the measurement and buy one there. Other than the missing/broken pieces and lack of customer service the bike itself seems pretty sturdy, relatively comfortable and decent quality for the price. But better hope it doesn't come broken or with any missing pieces. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , March 21, 2014

    Real Good Workout

0 5/5 Brenda - See all my reviews This review is from: Weslo Weslo Cross Cycle Upright Exercise Bike (Misc.) Its not suitable for shorties like me & takes time to mount, but once mounted its ideal. It gives a total body workout that leaves you invigorated & eager for the next session. My 16 year old son assembled mine with ease & in under 30 minutes. I will need a step stool to mount it,but I'm cool with that. Its the best exercise bike I've ever used. The tension is perfect & challenging...feels great. I am 100% satisfied. And it doesn't need a lot of space. I have mine in a small space in my bedroom. The seat is comfortable, nicely padded. The unit is heavy, making it sturdy & safe. Its a wise investment. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 23, 2014

Rock Solid! Amazing Value! I Love it!

UPDATE Dec 4th, 2013:I've had my Sunny for just about a year now- and I use it quite vigorously, as I do Tabata drills- and it is holding-up great! Haven't had to do anything at all to it, yet! It's still like new. I'm amazed at what a bargain it is, for such a low price. I see the cheap spin bikes they have at the local Walmart.... They look like they're half falling apart just sitting there on the display platform! :DNow back to the original review:I'm going to divide this review up into three sections for convenience, to address the bike itself; Some other reviewers comments; and a little something about spinning in general. But first, a little about me: I am a recreational cyclist who logs over 3000 miles a year on a road bike and I purchased this spin bike so that I can stay fit in the winter, when, due to weather and limited hours of daylight, I don't get to ride my road bike as often. Prior to getting this spin bike 5 days ago, I'd never been on a spin... 5/5 Mr. Howell (Rural Kentucky) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) 0 4/5 Fitness03 (Pittsburgh, PA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Sunny Health & Fitness Pro Indoor Cycling Bike (Health and Beauty) I've been a spinning instructor for 10 years. I just had a baby and I'm taking some time away from the gym but want to stay fit. I bought 3 of these bikes; one for me and two for some of my clients to use in my home gym. I'm very impressed so far and so are my clients. This bike is just as sturdy as any spinning bikes that I've used in a gym. I would highly recommend it. The only draw back was that the seat was too tall for me even on the lowest setting. My husband drilled an extra hole in the post (yes, there is plenty of room) and the height is now fine. I would strongly recommend this bike to anyone. I would compare it to bikes that are in the $1000+ category. I'm very impressed! As far as assembly, it took about 20 minutes to assemble. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 28, 2009
