    Absolute garbage

0 1/5 James - See all my reviews This review is from: Weslo Weslo Cross Cycle Upright Exercise Bike (Misc.) Very poorly engineered drive system that will fall apart with repeated use. The design of the axle is such that the flywheel has no option but to wobble due to ~10 degrees angle of deflection from its centerline (created by poor axle to flywheel fit, perhaps some race bearings are needed? I'm not sure, I'm not an engineer, but I can see the problem). Weslo knows that most of these machines get used about 3 times and then are relegated to clothes hanger duty which is what allows them to get away with selling garbage machines like this one. If you are looking for exercise equipment that you will actually use several times per week, look elsewhere. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , April 8, 2014

Good product - IF you don't have any issues...parts no longer made

0 2/5 onlinemom - See all my reviews This review is from: Weslo Weslo Cross Cycle Upright Exercise Bike (Misc.) Got this elsewhere, but the wheel came cracked, and we were missing one locking nut. Called the 866 # on the form in the box as iit says to do and was told they do not make the wheel anymore. Their advice? Duct tape it. Ok, then asked that they send me just the locking nut that was missing - turns out they don't have those either...they suggested I go to a hardware store with the measurement and buy one there. Other than the missing/broken pieces and lack of customer service the bike itself seems pretty sturdy, relatively comfortable and decent quality for the price. But better hope it doesn't come broken or with any missing pieces. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , March 21, 2014

    Real Good Workout

0 5/5 Brenda - See all my reviews This review is from: Weslo Weslo Cross Cycle Upright Exercise Bike (Misc.) Its not suitable for shorties like me & takes time to mount, but once mounted its ideal. It gives a total body workout that leaves you invigorated & eager for the next session. My 16 year old son assembled mine with ease & in under 30 minutes. I will need a step stool to mount it,but I'm cool with that. Its the best exercise bike I've ever used. The tension is perfect & challenging...feels great. I am 100% satisfied. And it doesn't need a lot of space. I have mine in a small space in my bedroom. The seat is comfortable, nicely padded. The unit is heavy, making it sturdy & safe. Its a wise investment. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 23, 2014

Great bike, but be wary of the seat

This exercise bike is a good value for the money. It is quite sturdy for an inexpensive bike, works well, and is easy to put together. I also like the handlebars, so my upper body can be getting a workout while I'm pedaling instead of just my legs. I got this bike because I needed to rehab my knee after having microfracture surgery. The only reason I can't give this bike 5 stars is because of the hardness of the seat. Even though I purchased the Sunlite Gel Bicycle Seat Cover (which Amazon suggested in the Frequently Purchased Together section of the bike's webpage) at the same time that I purchased the bike, it barely makes a difference. After 30 minutes of riding, I am literally forced to get off of the bike. I also put a thick towel on top of the Gel Seat Cover, and even with that extra measure, my butt and family jewels are rendered numb from the hardness of the seat. I probably should have done more research on seat covers instead of simply buying the one that Amazon suggested... 4/5 chuck1231 (Bolingbrook, IL) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) The Best Exercise Machine Ever For The Price

In all honesty im 6 Feet Tall and its fine i don't see any problem with it, i read the other review about "it's for midgets" and that not true. I have it on the highest seat setting and my knees still don't hit the bars or my chest lol. Its a great bike... i would only recommend getting the gel seat cover they recommend to get, i think its called "Cloud Nine" Other than that your good to go. I also read that it's a bit loud and that it makes it difficult to hear the TV at the same time your using the Bike. Well i have mine right in front of the TV and yes the bike makes some noise....but nothing to stress over, all you have to do is raise the volume a little and it's good, the bike isn't that loud. Now lets get to assembling part,oh wait i forgot to tell you there barely is any assembling to do, i put it together in 30 minutes and the instructions were good to me. The only thing i found tricky was putting on the left pedal, it screws on the opposite way of the right pedal. The only... 5/5 V. Dibartolo (Brooklyn) - See all my reviews, March 4, 2010

    A Good Bike

I got this bike a month ago. So far I like it. Here are something I'd like to share. It might help you decide which one to buy.1. The seat is not comfortable enough for me to stay on the bike for 40 minutes. I put a pillow on the seat and it solved the problem (see the image I uploaded).2. Adjustable Seat: Not sure if I did it wrong, it's adjustable but after adjustment, you have to tighten the screw. It's not like the adjustable ones in the gym that you can adjust whenever you want. I'm OK with it since I'm the only person who use it.3. Assembly: Easy enough. I assembled it by myself. No difficulties.4. It's quiet and resistant is good. Easy to adjust.5. I work at home more than 40 hours a week. Plus driving kids to all kinds of activities, cooking meals etc. Sometimes it's hard to take 30-40 minutes to exercise. So I want to transfer some of my working hours to fitness hours. There's no book holder on console to hold the... 4/5 Fei (IL, USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) LINK BELOW. :)Greetings!!!I spent a lot of time reviewing many machines and watching videos and I finally decided on this one.I have been riding recumbent bikes for 8 years and I have owned ones with lots of bells and whistles, and just simple manual machines for setting your own loads for intensive training.I just finished putting this together and it is a great performer. It has a very solid frame and themagnetic resistance load goes from very light to extreme load. It will challenge anyone wishing fora hard workout. The computer has the basics for letting you know distance, speed, elapssed time, caloriesburned (approx. only), etc. If you are not looking for programmed routines and just want a goodmanual riding machine, you will not be disapointed. I was very surprised at the solidness of this bike.It is also very quiet... 5/5 Jamie Sebenius "Jamie" (kansas) - See all my reviews, July 13, 2012

A fantastic exercise bike for a quality price!

I am in the middle of a diet and exercise program, and have been aching to get a recumbent exercise bike since the beginning. I am keeping a blog about my weight loss and mentioned it several times. My parents took note of it and purchased this for me for Christmas 2011. I was real excited when I got it home and put it together. It assembled real well; it's straight-forward enough that for the most part you don't even really need directions. I used them anyway, though just for posterity's sake. It took about an hour and a half, maybe two hours to do by myself, and would've been quicker if I had been a bit more organized (half of that time was spent trying to find my tools again after moving to the next part). It's very quiet, and the tension settings are easily adjustable. The seat is fairly comfortable, and as long as you have the adjusters tightened correctly it makes no noise as you ride. The display is fairly simple; it displays the current... 5/5 Jack J. tough assembly but sturdy as a rock

0 5/5 Bob C. - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Weslo Pursuit R 2.2 (Sports) so far the bike is very smooth, the lcd screen is worthless unless you are in well lit room, or under a light, but does work properly. at under a $100 this is a steal !!!!the assembly can be a little rough, some of you might want an extra person to help. the bolts are treated with blue locktite which can make mounting parts with the allen wrench provided a little tough for the timid. pay attention when connecting the wires for display together, and off to the races.PS - couldn't get heart rate monitor to work... you will find a very thin plastic coating on each of the heart rate pads peel them off, and your good to go. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 25, 2013

    An Inexpensive Bike

I am a bit disappointed. First of all, the box arrived with one of the cranks sticking out of its side. Unpacked it and it looked okay. Assembly was easy, but when I started pedling, the consol did not work. It displayed okay, but did not register speed or distance or anything else. Took it back apart and checked all the connection and they were okay. Checked the manual under troubleshooting and it explained I had to take the left pedal and plastic shield off and adjust the sensor switch, moving it closer to the magnet on the crank assembly. In doing that, I found the plastic shields were broken in 6 places due to the rough handling the unit took as evidenced by the damage to the outside packaging. I have gone back to the manufacturer for replacement shields. We shall see if they provide replacements. As far as the bike goes, it is sturdy and has a comfortable seat. It has magnetic resistance, but I did not understand that you could only vary the resistance... 3/5 Clark Shilling - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great Bike and Awesome Price!

I bought this bike during a major sale after trying some spin classes with a friend. The spin classes became too expensive to continue with, so I decided to get a bike to keep up the exercise at home. In comparison to the bikes used in spin class, the only thing I found to be missing was the fact that you can't slide the seat forward or backward. You can adjust the height, just not forward or backward. I still haven't figured out how to get the display to tell me how far in miles I've gone (it gives a number, but I don't know what it's measuring), however I haven't read through the entire owner's manual yet, either. The tension is easy to set with a dial that can be set from zero to ten in resistance (I use the ten for when I stand up to pedal).Assembly was a little difficult just by myself, but I think it would be easy with a second person (which is what the instructions recommend). It's sturdy and the seat is comfortable. The seat adjusts low enough that my 11-year-old can use... 4/5 R. Freeman (Michigan) - See all my reviews, July 1, 2013

    Great Value!

0 4/5 Fitness03 (Pittsburgh, PA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Sunny Health & Fitness Pro Indoor Cycling Bike (Health and Beauty) I've been a spinning instructor for 10 years. I just had a baby and I'm taking some time away from the gym but want to stay fit. I bought 3 of these bikes; one for me and two for some of my clients to use in my home gym. I'm very impressed so far and so are my clients. This bike is just as sturdy as any spinning bikes that I've used in a gym. I would highly recommend it. The only draw back was that the seat was too tall for me even on the lowest setting. My husband drilled an extra hole in the post (yes, there is plenty of room) and the height is now fine. I would strongly recommend this bike to anyone. I would compare it to bikes that are in the $1000+ category. I'm very impressed! As far as assembly, it took about 20 minutes to assemble. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 28, 2009

I got this Weslo Bike at an amazing price on Amazon. Was thinking of purchasing one and after some research this seemed ideal. Box was in horrible condition retaped, I thought no wonder price was so low, when I opened box it was factory packed. They say assembly is 30-45 minutes it took me an hour and a half alone, instructions included and all tools for assembly Allen wrenches and Phillips screwdriver, I had pliers and a screwdriver with me makes a bit easier. Feels solid and quiet and seat is somewhat hard yet comfortable. Computer is more cosmetic than accurate, it works but not sure of accuracy. Bike makes no noise could watch TV or read with no issues. Slight cosmetic crack on plastic no biggie. Lumbar support is nice, I am 6'0 and had no problems bumping into any part of bike. If not cracked 5 stars. for the price GET IT. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , November 11, 2013

This is my second day with the bike. I have osteoarthritis in my hips (I used to be a runner) and walking can even be painful, now, so I needed something with very low joint impact.I put it together yesterday, with my 15 year old son. The box is enormously heavy, but once the bike is put together, it's easy to move around due to the "wheels" in the front.I didn't time how long it took to put it together, but it wasn't long. The first two screws in Step 1 wouldn't go all the way in, so I coated them with a little olive oil. Everything else was a breeze. The instructions were easy and the hardware was clearly marked.Aside from a couple tiny dents and scratches, the bike is perfect for me. The seat is adjustable, however, you have to unscrew it to move it (it's not a lever adjuster). I'm 5'5 and the farthest seat position is too far (would be good for most all heights). The tension is from 1-10 and works very well. 0 5/5 Tom Scarpati (Madison, CT, US) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Gold's Gym Trainer 110 Exercise Bike (Sports) Did o lot of reading on Amazon on different exercise bikes. Concerned about lots of negative reviews on assembly, quality, noise, etc. Went with the Gold Bike. It came yesterday, free shipping. Assembled it last night, one hour. Rode it today for the first time. Thought I'd share my first impressions. The box was a bit beat up from shipping, but the interior packaging was great. Each part was individually wrapped in plastic and/or cardboard. All the parts were there and all the hardware was mounted and labeled on a palette. Instructions were clear and accurate; photos where necessary. The bolts had a Teflon coating on the threads. I'm an engineer and I was really, really impressed. The quality looks great.Rode it this morning and was pleased with the feel, the quiet, the stability (it does have a small footprint) and the display. It actually read my pulse accurately. I'll write again after I put some miles on but, so I love it. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 16, 2013

    Good Bike for the Money

The bike I received works well for the money. I get a good workout, and it operates smoothly. I am just trying to keep up some cardio conditioning during the winter months when I can't ride my real bike outside. The bike is very quiet, so I can ride it in front of the television and still hear the show at the same time.A few notes:* The hear rate monitor only reads when you put your thumb on it, and it isn't accurate at all when you do use it. To me that part is useless.* The bike I received fits the description that I read, but not the picture. It is a Waslo bike, not a Gold's Gym. It is basically the same, with the same controller. Just a different label.* The resistance adjusts manually with a dial. This works fine for me, but you can't expect to choose a workout and have the bike adjust the resistance up and down for you.Overall, this is a good bike if you just want to get your heart rate pumping and don't mind adjusting the... 4/5 B. There are pros and cons

Let me start out by saying that I LOVE my Surfshelf because I HATE walking on my treadmill, but health requires that I do. I used to listen to music, but I was just BORED. Now, I watch movies and shows with the help of my Surfshelf, and the 45 minutes just whizzes by like never before. I've had it for about two months now, and would hate to live without it. However, I only gave it 4 stars because I feel everyone should know about the cons involved. Here they are, in my opinion:1) The cost. It's too pricey for what you get, but I still would buy it again. So, I guess that point is debatable. It's basically a plastic tray with a velcro strap and a couple of nylon belts, but it does the job of holding your laptop VERY securely, which was very important to me. (**It's April 2010 now, and I came back to edit this portion of my review because I found out that the price I originally paid for the SurfShelf has been lowered by $20. I consider that to be a fair price and... 4/5 S. Mansberger - See all my reviews, April 12, 2009

    Awesome Multitasking!

I've read about some fitness gurus stating that "exercise should be pure and zenlike, not marred by distractions." Let me tell you, walking on a treadmill for a long period of time is boring and far from zen-like. I know that I love to use my laptop because, like the inventor, our tech jobs have invaded our home space. The pay is great but you can't sit at your desk (at home and work) for 12 hours a day and expect to stay in shape. This device allows you to have both. I'm not in the best shape (which is why this is a Christmas present) and I can go up to level 2 while fully using the laptop, and up to normal running speed when watching videos.I've been in gyms off and on for the past 15 years of my life. It gets REALLY boring and there aren't enough mp3's out there to provide variety. I've changed my workout, changed my song list, watched the gym televisions with headline news, read articles in magazines I would normally not pick up, and spent the entire workout flipping... 5/5 Kat (Manassas, VA) - See all my reviews This review is from: SurfShelf Treadmill Desk: Laptop and iPad Holder (Sports) I've read about some fitness gurus stating that "exercise should be pure and zenlike, not marred by distractions." Working Out While Working

The Surf Shelf it is a exercise equipment attachment that allows the user to safely use their laptop while working out. It is very versatile because it can be attached to a treadmill, a stationary bike, a stairmaster, or a elliptical machine. I purchased specifically for my treadmill.Basically, it's a plastic shelf made of a sturdy 100% polycarbonate, "the same stuff used to make bullet-proof glass", designed to hold up to 15 pounds. It comes in two pieces with three straps (two 6" and one 5" with Velcro) and a bevy of instructions to help you attach it to your machine. One to two straps are used to attach it to the machine while the Velcro is used to secure the laptop in place on the shelf.Other features:* Air vents to keep laptop cool* See through panels to see console* Adjustable angle* Easy to remove and carryIt took longer to set up than I expected (about 20 plus minutes) but I have no doubt I could move it to... 5/5 M.
