A very sensible motion is observed in the stamina of many plants, at the moment when the antheræ are expanding, and the pollen is ready to escape. By this motion, the anthera is directed towards the pistil, and, in some instances, ...

"I N enlarging, in a late article, on the fpecies of eloquence adapted for the pulpit, we remarked that the ftyle frequently crept on with fo much uniformity as not to excite the attention, and with fo little fervour, that the preacher was not always animated by his own ideas. This is not a fpecies of eloquence of the milder kind, though not very differentia effect. The ftyle is polifiied; but its beauty is without energy, and confifts in fplendid prettinefs, without a manly dignity of thought or of expreffion. It plays about the heart without affecting the judgment. The firft Sermon is on the Lamentation of Jefus over Jerufalem. The defign of the difcourfe is to apply our Saviour's pathetic complaint to this kingdom; to convert it into a remonftrance againft the vices of a nation which has received mercies fcarcely lefs fignal than thofe with which Jerufalern was diftinguimed. The conclufion is in our author's beft manner, and we mall confequently infert it. ' And thou, O Son of God, deign the efficacious concurrence of thy grace with our fincere though feeble efforts to refemble thee in every circumftance of conduit. How amiable an example of tender fympathy halt thou given us in thy concern for that obttinate and devoted city, Jerufalem! How admirably didft thou enforce thy precepts by thy own practice ! Wonderful product, easy to stay motivated!

I bought this mini-elliptical after reading all the reviews on this and other similar products. I bought this item for three main reasons:1 - Low price2 - Small size3 - PortabilityI like the elliptical movement because I have bad ankles, and treadmills and steppers hurt me after a short time working out. I don't have room for a full-size elliptical machine in my house, and this turned out to be the perfect size. Plus, it's small size made it easy to move around the house to be where I wanted to use it. I like to work out while watching TV to keep my mind elsewhere and work out longer, and I can pull this machine (about 25lbs) in front of the TV in the living room to watch TV with family (yes, they laugh at me, but it's worth it), and then pull in front of my bed in the bedroom to watch a chick flick that no one else wants to watch. I even put my elliptical in front of my computer to watch Netflix movies online! It's easy to carry around.Another great... 5/5 N. 15-Day Review

Normally, I take reviews with a grain of salt. I work in advertising, so I'm well aware that companies often hire freelancers to write positive reviews for their products in order to improve sales. That said, I figured I would write an honest review after using this elliptical trainer for about half-a-month.I received the trainer on about the 20th of September and have been using it at least every other day since. It was extremely easy to piece together (I have put together a Bowflex Treadclimber in the past, as well as a StairMaster so this was practically nothing at five parts) and even easier to use. However, the stride IS significantly shorter than that of a standard health club elliptical--after about ten minutes of using the trainer, though, I didn't even notice the short stride.I bought the trainer as an alternative to running or biking outside since the cold weather is settling in and I wanted no excuses when it came to maintaining some sort of exercise... 4/5 Amazon Customer (Long Island, NY) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Yes, you can use this while sitting at your desk

I read through every description and review I could find before I bought this because I wanted to know if I could use it at my desk while sitting and working. Nothing really answered that, so I got in anyway. And now, it is clear that this thing is the missing link in my fitness program. I'm basically sedentary for 8 hours a day at work. Not anymore. I did 14 miles on it yesterday and am up to 12 miles today, and it is only 11am.Here's the deal: Sit down at your desk with your knees bent and feet flat on the ground. If your feet aren't flat on the ground, lower your chair until they are. Now measure the distance between your knee and the desk (measure to the bottom of the workspace area, to see how much distance you have before your knees knock up against the desk when you lift them). If you measured 7 inches or more, you are fine and can get this thing with no problem. If you measured less than seven inches, take off your shoes and try again. When I took off my... 5/5 Fiction Lover (North Carolina) - See all my reviews This review is from: Stamina In-Motion Elliptical Trainer (Sports) I read through every description and review I could find before I bought this because I wanted to know if I could use it at my desk while sitting and working. Renewed Motivation!!

I purchased this mainly because I sit at a desk all day, am in my late 50s, and although not overweight, could use toning, tightening, and cardio protection. This machine "feels" like it will do all of the above, and best of all it was inexpensive. I can cancel my $10/month gym membership which I can never get to, and workout in my PJs anytime I want to. Because of its portability which makes it accessible, I find it easy to stay motivated, something I have a very hard time with. I'm not ashamed to say, that I hate going to the gym as it is too much trouble to get to after a hard day at work. I keep this in my living room in front of the sofa and use it every night during the television commercials. When company comes, I scoop it up by the handle and hide it. It is low impact, so it has not hurt my sensitive joints, something I was a little worried about. The machine is made very well, very sturdy. .I love that you can turn it around and pedal from a sitting position... 5/5 Kath "Kathy" (NY) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Just What I Wanted

0 5/5 Deb S. - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Stamina InMotion Compact Strider with Upper Body Cords (Sports) This is a great machine, very smooth and quiet. It stays in place when using, doesn't move around one bit on my hardwood floor. Plenty of work out potential here considering the small foot print of the Strider. I wanted something I could use in the house that wouldn't take up much space, for me this fits the bill. I enjoy walking and running outside but that's not always possible due to weather or knee pain. I'm thrilled to now have this low impact option to use alone or in addition to my normal exercise routine. Great quality, works well, easy to use. It's a little heavy for me to move but I'm going to leave it where I have chosen to use it. The weight no doubt keeps the machine stable, so that works for me! I'm very happy with this purchase, worth every penny. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , April 13, 2015

0 5/5 DanD - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Stamina InMotion Compact Strider (Sports) I rarely buy indoor exercise equipment (would rather be outdoors) but I'm VERY satisfied with this. A coworker has one and uses it every day. I use mine daily at home, while studying or watching TV. My 10-year-old daughter has loved this strider from the start. She gets home, opens her homework, and starts pedaling. The strider is easy for me to move from this room to that, and SOLID enough for me to stand/walk on. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 11, 2015

0 5/5 kris monger - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Stamina InMotion Compact Strider (Sports) I got the stamina last week. I love it. I brought it to work and everyone wanted one. I used it on and off for an hour each time all day long. I want to get one for home and one for the office. It is very quiet and no one knew that I was even using it. It is a little on the heavier side(but still easy not that heavy that a person can't carry it), however, I don't think that it could be any lighter for the fact that it needs to be sturdy. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , April 10, 2015

0 5/5 S. Goebel (Michigan United States) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Stamina InMotion Compact Strider (Sports) I had been wanting a treadmill desk, because of the bulk and the weight of it, I took a good look at this and with the added benefit of less trauma to my joints I went ahead and purchased this to go with my stand up desk. This is only my second day using this setup. First day did 6 hrs slow stride while working on spreadsheets and doing reports from my home office. I do get a little tired and have to focus more on what I am doing and from starting day 2 I already find it easier to do while working. The slight up and down motion doesn't really get in the way, that was the only thing I was worried about and the standing desk gives me added stability while using my keyboard and mouse. First day stats from my strider and my pedometer watch 13317 steps, 24.81 miles, 2559 calories burned. So is encouraging :-) 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , May 12, 2015

Considering price, this is a great little treadmill.

The reviews seemed to be confusing regarding the Stamina InMotion Manual Treadmill but I bought it anyway since I figured I could work out the problems mentioned. It arrived the next day and was extremely well packaged in a very strong cardboard box. If that box had been deeper and longer, I'd keep it to use for my casket and save my family and the US Government a few bucks.Anyway, since I'm blind, I didn't read the instructions and my 9 year old son wasn't patient enough to read them either. Surprisingly, We figured everything out and had it fully assembled and running within about ten minutes. I had no problems with anything at all. Using some graphite powder that I keep handy, I liberally lubed the plate that the belt rides on - I did not put any on the rollers to avoid slippage. After a few steps, the belt went from jerky to reasonably smooth, certainly smooth enough an operation to use properly. The belt will surely relax and stretch a bit with use so I believe... 5/5 Blind Dad (Janesville WI) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) 0 1/5 SMGMTX - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Stamina InMotion Manual Treadmill (Pewter Grey, Black) (Sports) I was attracted to this item because I was looking for something small that can fit in my 1 bedroom apartment and inexpensive. After putting the treadmill together and giving it a go, some problems surfaced almost immediately:1. The incline is so steep that you're forced to hold on to the handle bars making anything faster than a walk very awkward.2. Constantly needs adjustments! The second one was a big issue. The belt constantly moved to either side of the treadmill, forcing me to re-align it every 3-5 minutes.Too much of a hassle than it's worth so I returned it. Do not recommend. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , November 17, 2011

UPDATED 11.06.2013 -- TIMELY ARRIVAL, EASY ASSEMBLY, GREAT WORKOUT!

The treadmill arrived properly package and undamaged, all parts were present and securely arranged and covered to prevent marring etc. I spent 25 minutes unpacking everything and approximately 15 minutes for the assembly with minor adjustments. For the price this is a sturdy machine which happens to be replacing a Bollinger Manual Treadmill whose belt give up its life after about twenty years. Should I receive the service out of this treadmill as I did the Bollinger unit I will be more than pleased.I elected a manual treadmill over the motorized versions because I want to perform all of the work and receive the best benefits that offers. Secondly, manual treadmills with fixed inclines simulate hiking up hill for more realistic effects. This model Stamina InMotion Manual Treadmill offers two incline levels 8 and 10 degrees for more or less resistance.I rarely give five stars on any product because there is always room for improvement, this product is... 4/5 Gary A. Very Happy with this Treadmill

I bought this treadmill because I don't have room for a massive, professional size treadmill nor did I want to spend hundreds of dollars. Because of the price I was expecting a very pared down version - just the basics - and that's what you get. It's not difficult to put together and it feels very sturdy. It folds up like a dream (very compactly) and is light enough to move around if you need to. The manual treadmill action takes a little getting used to and you just have to assume that it will take a few tries to get the belt to settle correctly without drifting, but once adjusted properly it seems to stay put. You can really only walk on this treadmill - it's not really designed for running as you have to hold on to keep it going. But this is good. The manual action requires a little more effort (not tons but a little) through the legs and hips and since you have to hold on to keep your body from moving backward (the treadmill is at a slant for the manual action) your arms... 4/5 JoeD (Los Angeles, CA USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Good for running. Need adjustment for long distance.

I generally don't like treadmills because they don't work your hamstrings like normal running would (people usually let the belt carry their foot backwards, which is cheating yourself), but sometimes you need one because of the weather outside and a manual treadmill in my opinion is your best bet. Because it's all moved by your muscles, your hamstrings at least get some use.I bought this treadmill because of the weight tolerance and the belt size which allows me to run and walk.Yeah, there's some belt wobble, but you get that with any manual. Just gotta fine-adjust it to your rhythm.I'm not a sprinter--I prefer to "go the distance" and ride this thing for an hour at a time! I don't like the incline--even adjusted down it forces you to run fast (which, like I said, cheats your hamstrings because they don't get a good workout). Because of the size of the base of the handlebar assembly, there tends to be wobble. The wobble gets worse if you're... 3/5 John A. Amazon isn't kidding when they say you save $89. This rower does indeed sell for more online. This is exactly what I wanted. A simple rower to get me moving. If you have "bad knees" you will want to determine how to support yourself when getting on and off the machine since it is, like all rowers, very close to the ground. This is a problem for me, I knew it would be, but I knew from experience (many years ago) that I would get a full body workout with a rower. Hopefully getting on and off will become easier with time. The rower does involve assembly. I am by no means mechanically inclined (ten thumbs) but I decided to make an attempt. I found the directions to be very good and I managed to put the rower together without any problems. I am normally so inept that my 'building' this rower makes me darn proud of myself. Translated-any one should be able to assemble this rower. All of my parts were there and the assembly was very easy. Just follow directions. It took me about 45 min to put together after unpacking. I am very glad I did not spend any more money on a rower than this. I am an ex long distance runner and I use an elliptical daily. I have bikes and weights but just needed to shake up my workout. I am a lightweight woman, not much upper body strength. There is a lot of resistance to this for someone my size and it is adjustable as you build up. This is would not be a rower for a high performance rower, but for someone like myself in my home gym it is perfect!! I doubt this would work for a very heavy person. It only weighs about 29 lbs. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 14, 2014

I must be weaker than I thought because the lowest setting is a serious workout for me, lol. It took about 30-45 minutes to assemble by myself. I thought there were two missing screws and two missing washers but they were preassembled into the pedal bar. Also, some of the parts were not labelled in the list and I had to go by the pictures in the instruction manual which was a little frustrating...for example, telling me to put part xyz into abc, but xyz isn't listed on the parts list. Obviously you can figure it out, especially since I'm not the most assembly inclined, but I expect each part to be explicitly shown if later referenced. The seat is a little wobbly on the track but not enough to throw you off balance. I'm about 5'4 and 120lbs and my husband is 6'1 and 250lbs and we can both use this comfortably, so it has a decent range. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 19, 2015

    Good price for the $$$

0 4/5 Richard Spafford - See all my reviews This review is from: Stamina InMotion Compact Elliptical Trainer with Upper Body Cords (Misc.) This machine is a good value for the money. It basically is great for warming up your legs before more strenuous exercise or just putting in a nice 10-15 minutes of cardio, and it has the benefit of allowing you to operate it in reverse, which is very good for your heart, by the way. The tension is easy to adjust, but the position of the counter is not optimal. I weigh 190 and have used this machine probably a dozen times without an issue, and my wife has used it at least that many times. Be aware that when you're done exercising, be careful when you pick it up because the housing for the pedals gets hot during use. I would buy this again. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 14, 2012

Even on sale, not that great

0 2/5 Jay Zeegs "Jay Zeegs" (Bodunk, ME) - See all my reviews This review is from: Stamina InMotion Compact Elliptical Trainer with Upper Body Cords (Misc.) I see that this item is the GB Deal of the Day. While I did not purchase this through amazon my girlfriend did by this exact item else where. Even though this is portable, its still a little heavy, although about what I expected. You obviously need some weight to the machine. After 15 minutes of use the right footplate snapped off and my girlfriend almost broke her ankle. Within a day we exchanged it, read the instruction even more carefully, and had the same thing happen. Needless to say the next time we just got our money back. Be warned. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 14, 2012
